WELCOME

The Daughters of the American Revolution, founded in 1890 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America's future through better education for children.

The John Bell Chapter, NSDAR, in Madison, Wisconsin, was founded May 16, 1901, and is a chapter of both the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Wisconsin Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Miss Mary Louise Atwood, John Bell's first regent, was given the privilege of selecting our chapter name. She chose the name of a private, John Bell, as she felt that a private was most typical of the brave patriots who fought and sacrificed to achieve our freedom.
